fraiche
a personal message from the founder of fraiche

Fraiche grew out of a simple love of beauty, a passion for art, and a desire to create a luxurious escape from the worries and cares of the day.

Like many women, I started out on my own at a young age. I toyed around with various professions, and began my wandering journey by working with a computer programming company. From the beginning I was a self-taught woman. I eventually opened my own consulting company, but even then, with my many achievements under my belt, I felt unsatisfied with not having any direction of where I was heading and where I was eventually going to end up.

My loving husband, two beautiful stepdaughters and I have taken up many hobbies and have experienced endless bonding adventures over the years. One of these hobbies was, and still is, raising and showing national award-winning quarter horses. While at a horseshow in early 2005, I met a lovely and fascinating woman who handcrafted her own soap out of goats’ milk. The soap ingredients were pure, simple … and fresh. They weren’t the best smelling products, or the most attractive, but after one use, my love affair had begun.

It was in my kitchen that I began my own little chemistry experiment, seeking a better understanding of the many ingredients inside our beauty products. I wanted to create healthy bars of soap without the harsh chemicals that have confronted our skin for so long. I spent thousands of dollars on organic products to break them down into their natural elements. I bought books, attended classes, and consulted experts across the country in order to cultivate my latest “hobby” into something sustainable and real.

On July 4, 2005, I finished my first batch of soaps and nervously gave them out to friends and family to critique. (After all, who else would be more honest than them?) Within three months, I sold my first soaps to the public at a community farmers market. Fraiche was born.

My solitary go of it didn’t last long. Many of the friends and family who were the first to experience these handmade soaps now work side-by-side with me in our ever-expanding Texas studio to sculpt and package by hand these small works of art.

Our goal is to formulate luscious lather and intoxicating scents through the use of only botanical and certified organic ingredients. So each time you enjoy our organic products in the bath or in the shower, you can rest assured they are made of the purest ingredients our sweet earth has to offer, and are crafted with a great deal of love and mindful attention. Our products may look beautiful, smell wonderful and feel sumptuous to the touch – but most importantly, they offer you simple luxuries that raise the value of your everyday experiences.

Relax and revel in the everyday art of bathing.
